What can I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit at Natural Medicine of NH is extensive and will last for up to 90 minutes. This will allow the doctor sufficient time to evaluate your healthcare concerns. Dr. Klasman will take a comprehensive health history, perform appropriate physical exams, and order external lab testing if appropriate and/or obtain your permission for past medical records. You may receive a treatment plan, however often it’s necessary to obtain lab results or information first. Results and individualized treatment plan will be discussed at the follow up visit. Depending on the scope of therapy and the complexity of your case, treatment plans may be broken down into phases.
Prior to your first visit, please download and fill out the forms to the right. Also, if you have copies of your most recent medical records, please bring them to your first visit along with any medications or dietary supplements that you are currently taking.
Return visits last approximately 30-45 minutes and are used to review lab results, evaluate health progress and to adjust treatment plans as changes in your health status occur, or as new information such as lab reports becomes available. These visits can also be used to perform in-office procedures.
What about insurance?
So far, the only health insurance providers that contract with Naturopathic Doctors in the state of NH are Cigna, United HealthCare, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield. HOWEVER, not all plans sold by these companies offer coverage for Naturopathic Services. So, while we may be in your network, we aren’t necessarily a covered provider. If your appointment with us is contingent on your insurance coverage, we ask that you determine coverage prior to scheduling your appointment. You will want to contact your health insurance provider and ask if your specific plan offers coverage for naturopathic services. It’s not enough to ask if we are in your network, because we will be. It’s whether your specific plan will cover our services.
Also, if your insurance provides coverage for out of network providers such as a PPO, you may be able to get reimbursed for office appointment fees. The amount of reimbursement will vary depending upon your deductible and other get details of your contract. Upon request, Natural Medicine of NH will provide you with a completed “Superbill” with the necessary insurance codes for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
In all cases, we cannot guarantee coverage or reimbursement.
Appointment Fees
For non-insured patients, payment is due at the conclusion of your appointment. We accept cash, check, credit card or qualified HSA’s as forms of payment. If insurance coverage hasn’t been confirmed prior to your appointment, we will require payment at time of service. We will submit a claim after you’ve confirmed coverage and will reimburse you appropriately.
