What can I expect at my first visit?
Your first visit at Natural Medicine of NH is extensive and will last for approximately 1 ½ - 2 hours. This will allow Dr. Klasman sufficient time to address each of your healthcare concerns. Dr. Klasman will take a comprehensive health history, perform appropriate physical exams, and conduct relevant in-house lab testing. Outside lab work will be ordered as needed. At the end of the first or second visit, you will leave with an individualized treatment plan. Depending on the scope of therapy and the complexity of the case, treatment plans may be broken down into phases. Prior to your first visit, please download and fill out the forms to the right. Also, if you have copies of your most recent medical records, please bring them to your first visit along with any medications or dietary supplements that you are currently taking.
Return visits last approximately 30-60 minutes and are used to review lab results, evaluate health progress and to adjust treatment plans as changes in your health status occur, or as new information such as lab reports becomes available. These visits can also be used to perform in-office procedures.
What about insurance?
In the state of NH, insurance plans that are purchased on the open market are required by law to contract with Naturopathic Doctors. So far, the only insurance companies to comply with this law are Cigna and Harvard Pilgrim. Currently, all patients with Cigna are covered under their insurance. With Harvard Pilgrim, only plans purchased on the open market and plans that have specifically chosen to cover naturopathic services are covered. With Harvard Pilgrim, we may need to confirm your eligibility for coverage prior to your visit.
Also, if your insurance provides coverage for out of network providers such as a PPO, you may be able to get reimbursed for office appointment fees. HMO's usually do not qualify for reimbursement from out of network providers. The amount of reimbursement will vary depending upon your deductible and other get details of your contract. Upon request, Natural Medicine of NH will provide you with a completed "Superbill" with the necessary insurance codes for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. We cannot guarantee reimbursement, and encourage patients to contact their insurance provider ahead of time if this is a condition of seeing Dr. Klasman.
Payment is due at the conclusion of your appointment. We accept cash or check as forms of payment in the Nashua office and cash, checks and credit cards in the Salem office.
